Barely 18 hours into the event, over 2,700 (and counting) voters have made themselves heard in who they want to see emerge as Malaysia’s top e-commerce merchant out of the 60 shortlisted participants.
The Vox Populi is Represented Too
Members of the public can cast their votes to support their favourite e-merchants through the SITEC website at http://bit.ly/topecmvotews OR via polling on the SITEC Facebook page at http://bit.ly/topecm16vote.
Votes from the public carries a 50% weightage in the judging, with the remainder 50% up to the distinguished panel of judges fielded for this competition. They will each assess and award points to every shortlisted merchant based on four dimensions: (a) Product offerings, (b) General marketing efforts, (c) Social Media usage and (d) Sales Value or Sales Volume.
The ceremony to award the top 10 finalists will be held on April 9th, at the Empire Hotel Subang.
“We were pleasantly surprised by the strong response we have seen. We continue to encourage more people to vote to help crown Malaysia’s Top E-Commerce Merchant for 2016.
“This also shows that the local e-commerce scene already has a sizeable following, but still has more room to grow.
“It is a good sign for the future of the e-commerce scene in Malaysia,” said Mr. Yong Kai Ping, the Chief Executive of SITEC.
Voters stand a chance to win a variety of prizes worth RM 5,000, such as Google Cardboard VR sets and Logitech Keyboards, with the biggest prize being the 4D3N, all-expenses paid trip for two to Bali.
The public polls close on March 31st and the results of the lucky draw winners will be announced on April 4th.
